Recently on nl:Wikipedia we had three new checkusers; two of those are not sysops. This might in some cases be problematic where they have to check the authors of deleted posts. Therefore I would like to ask whether the checkuser group can get the rights "browsearchive" and "deletedhistory" added. Thanks in advance. There has been no formal vote on this change, but in an informal one at http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overleg_Wikipedia:Regelingen_rond_moderatoren/Bevestiging_moderatorstatus/Juli_2009_%28eerste_ronde%29#Checkuser the outcome was 11-0 in favor.
i strongly support and recommend to fix this as soon as can reasonably be done
(In reply to comment #1) > i strongly support and recommend to fix this as soon as can reasonably be done > in my opinion it makes sense to not limit this to nlwikipedia only
There appears to be some question on letting non-sysops see deleted edits. Perhaps a more formalized consensus should be taken for this change before it is implemented?
The more formalized consensus has now been achieved: On http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Stemlokaal/Verwijderde_bijdragen_zichtbaar_voor_Checkusers a vote came out with 67 in favor of granting these rights, 2 against. A second vote found 60 in favor, 0 against with 2 abstentions to give these same rights to arbcom members; a bug report (or rather feature request) to enable this one has been filed as bug 21719. If this does not needlessly delay things, the two could be resolved in tandem.
This was done last Thursday.
