Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Mypage/vector.js
2. Edit the page and write alert("Bug 20631");
3. Preview

Expected:
 An alert box saying 20631.

Actual result:
 None.

Not working on Monobook either on both trunk and wmf-deployment; could this be a Wikipedia-specific customization?

It works on monobook for me. Remember to edit [[Special:Mypage/monobook.js]] instead of vector.js.

It works on Wikipedia, yes, but it doesn't work for me on either trunk or wmf-deployment, even when editing the correct page.

Roan, make sure you've enabled user JS on your test site.

The preview is not working for me, even at en.wp. The code works only when I sabe the page.

You're right. Now it doesn't even work for monobook.
Perhaps it got broken trunk and the difference on vector was just that it had 
been synced earlier?

Should this be working at en.wp?
Currently [[Special:Version]] shows MediaWiki 1.16alpha-wmf (r56901), but when I try to preview the code it doesn't shows an alert "Bug 20631"...

The revision number applies to the wmf-deployment branch, not to trunk. Presumably r56770 on trunk wasn't merged to wmf-deployment.
