On Special:Allmessages, the link texts do not start with capitals, yet the pages linked to do. While this is usual on Wikipedia, on Wiktionary this is not the expected behaviour. Using capitals with the link texts would avoid confusion.
It's a simple switch from lcfirst() to ucfirst() at two points in Special:Allmessages. That being said, it looks really ugly capitalizing the links :-\ Making it be only capitalized when $wgCapitalLinks is false would be needlessly inconsistent.
Beauty, I guess, is in the eye of the beholder (though I guess the text being so close to the borders may have something to do with it). The current situation is inconsistent as well. Capitalising seems the best alternative.
Wouldn't it be more desirable to lowercase the title of messages everywhere. [[MediaWiki:aboutsite]] could not redirect to [[MediaWiki:Aboutsite]], but instead implicitly displaytitle of 'MediaWiki:aboutsite'
See bug 29864
Is it really a problem in Wiktionary? The links work just as well with small letters. I'd just close this bug, unless somebody can explain what is the actual functional problem.
I suggest to follow the suggestion in bug 29864 and to allways lowercase the initial letters in the display of titles of pages in the MediaWiki: name space, and then close this bug.
