Description Casey Brown 2009-05-09 18:34:29 UTC
Please create the Wikimania 2010 website with:
* anonymous editing disabled
* the MediaWiki namespace of wm2009wiki already imported (if you can exclude "Mainpage" and "Mainpage-url" that would be great, it's fine if not)

For related bugs (previous site requests): bug 11614, bug 13547
Comment 1 Rob Halsell 2009-05-12 16:40:52 UTC
I have setup the wiki and disabled anon editting. However, I am having issues with DNS resolution at this time. As soon as its fixed, I will reply back to this and close the ticket.

With a little help, its all working. Closing this ticket.
Comment 3 Casey Brown 2009-05-12 19:10:22 UTC
Thanks! :-) A few other things though:
* it has Wikipedia settings (Sitename, Project namespace, favicon, etc). Could you copy over the Wikimania 2009/8/7 settings?
* is it easy to import the MediaWiki namespace contents (see #c0)? I recall that JeLuF made it seem like it was easier for you to do it than it would be for us to. :-) If not, I can do it -- just leave a note here.
Comment 4 Rob Halsell 2009-05-12 19:40:48 UTC
I went ahead and copied all the settings for 2009 for 2010 as well, so that should fix the issues you state above. I am not sure about copying the name space contents, and all the rest of the devs are AFK. When they are back I will ask them.

I'm pretty sure bug 11469 comment 4 is where I saw it. Relevant manual pages:
* http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:dumpBackup.php
* http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:importDump.php

Again, if this is too much trouble I can do it the old-fashioned way. ;-)

I just had to figure out how to use the scripts. It is all done =]
Comment 7 Rob Halsell 2009-05-13 15:17:24 UTC
I have wiped out the excess pages thanks to Casey's list and I have imported the proper namespace pages. Sorry for the confusion!
