Description Michael Daly 2009-03-02 19:17:12 UTC
The diff report on the English wikis (including en.wikipedia) defaults to showing the new page as red text on a green background. Since red-green colourblindness is the most common, this presents a problem for those readers. Personally, I can barely find small (e.g. single letter) changes and cannot easily read most changes.

Please change the default to use a different scheme. Personally, I would recommend using a single text colour with a difference in the background colour to identify changes. A good example is on fr.wikipedia - black text on a light blue background with a darker shade of blue with bold text highlighting the change. Such a change should be done with both the old and new text shown - the green-as-old and blue-as-new on fr.wikipedia seems rather good. If you insist on keeping the yellow, could you change it to a buff yellow rather than a cartoon yellow?

On a side note - the default for a French wiki is to use strikethrough. Why are the different languages not all using the the same colour and style scheme?
