Description Dan Jacobson 2008-12-14 19:36:59 UTC
Gentlemen, one might think "I'll improve my life by switching to RSS",
however there is a loss incurred when browsing
Special:RecentChanges&feed=rss instead of Special:RecentChanges.

The edit summaries (e.g., "Correcting fungus inventory") are now not
visible anymore, but instead one must individually browse each RSS
article to see them.

They should probably be right there in the RSS <title>, as well as
<description>.

(By the way, userlang=en has no effect on feed=rss. Maybe it could
change some of the <channel> level items, mainly <description>, but
probably best not to bother...)

uselang is separate bug 17868.
Comment 2 Quim Gil 2013-04-16 06:45:59 UTC
It seems good design to have titles as titles and descriptions of changes in the descriptions, instead of the title as well.

Resolving as WONTFIX. Feel free to reopen if you disagree.

Twitter uses title as well. Just saying. :)
Comment 4 Quim Gil 2013-04-17 15:55:05 UTC
All what a Twitter feed gives is a tweet, a single entity. Makes sense to use Title alone for it.

Still, if you think there is a point for this request please reopen. I'm not an authority on the matter. See also the progress at Bug 17869.
