I was thinking that maybe it'd be a good idea to include the oldid to the page when printable=yes. The following text is displayed at the bottom: Retrieved from "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page" It should be easy to include the permalink (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page?oldid=xxxxxx)

Even without "pretty" revision links it would still be possible to have a permalink, if there would be two links on the bottom of the printable version, like: * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page * http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=4711 I think it would be good enough, since /wiki/somethink correctly displays Unicode characters, and having one question mark in the URL is not too difficult to read.
Fixed per suggestion of the OP: r95655. Prettier permalinks are bug 16659.
