Description Mike.lifeguard 2008-05-18 14:10:12 UTC
We are missing all the uncategorized pages from M-Z at English Wikibooks. I assume that not all pages in that range are categorized.

We skip from M down to the numbers:
# Materials in Electronics/The Aufbau Principle
# Materials in Electronics/The Electron
# Materials in Electronics/The Hole
# Materials in Electronics/Wave-Particle Duality
# Materials in Electronics/Wave-Particle Duality/Electrons as Waves
# 1:A-level Chemistry/OCR (Salters)/Molecular geometry
# 1D0-510 Domain 1
# 1D0-510 Domain 2
# 1D0-510 Domain 3
# 8th Grade Science/Chapter 1: The Nature of Science

The size of the result set is currently limited to 5000 for performance reasons. This is not a bug. That the ones omitted are M-Z is coincidental. Fix the existing ones, and when the page is next refreshed, it will show you ones it previously skipped, up to a maximum of 5000 each time.

(my closing comment, Simetrical was quicker, containing whats and wheres)

The 5000 is an intentional limit set by the Wikimedia system administrators for
performance reasons.

It is defined in
http://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/highlight.php?file=InitialiseSettings.php as:
'wgQueryCacheLimit' => array(
    'default' => 5000,
),

As this is a performance concern, it will be WONTFIX. The standard product has
a limit of 1000 in DefaultSettings.php.

However, more than 5000 uncategorised content pages in Wikibooks. Ouch. I
suggest you guys get that list way under 5000 :).
