Description MZMcBride 2008-02-22 06:19:41 UTC
It would be nice if it were possible, using a magic word or something similar, to be able to add a template to a subject-space page and have it categorize the talk page instead of the page where the template is transcluded.
Comment 1 Huji 2008-02-22 12:57:04 UTC
And vise versa! So when we added a {{proposed-good-article}} template to the talk page, the article page would get listed in category used by that tempalte.
Comment 2 Roan Kattouw 2008-02-22 13:29:28 UTC
It's trivial to just add the category to the proper page instead. Recommending WONTFIX.
Comment 3 MZMcBride 2008-02-22 16:22:12 UTC
There are a couple of issues if users add a template to the subject-space page and add a category to the talk page. It requires the user to edit two pages instead of one, which isn't very nice. When the template is removed eventually, the likelihood of the category being forgotten increases, so we would be reliant on bots to come through and clean up.
