Description Huji 2008-01-09 15:32:56 UTC
When I use the Export feature (either "Export translations from" or "Export translations to file from") to export the Persian (Fa) translations (without chaning a message) and save them instead of the current MessagesFa.php file, I notice that there are some changes. Performing diff shows to me that ‎ is removed, LEFT-TO-RIGHT-MARKER is removed, and   is replaced with space (among other changes). The third may be desirable but the firt two are not.

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.11 and the latest version of Translate extension.

Do you use copy-paste for copying or save as from menu? Firefox is known to convert nbsps, and one can work around it by using command line export.
Comment 2 Huji 2008-01-17 19:44:35 UTC
Yes, I tired both copy-pasting and "Save Page As" options. In case this is a firefox bug, we may close it here as soon as we give a link to the bug on Firefox's bugzilla.

Is this observed behaviour still current?
Comment 4 Huji 2008-08-11 19:09:00 UTC
I don't have Translate installed any more, so I can't confirm it right away. Anyways, I remember that Niklas convinced me over IRC that this should be a Firefox bug.
Comment 5 Siebrand Mazeland 2008-08-18 19:08:55 UTC
Niklas tells me this is an issue in Firefox that cannot be resolved. Have to mark this as INVALID. You may want to consider reporting it to Mozilla.
