Description lɛʁi לערי ריינהארט 2007-12-27 02:59:27 UTC
Dear friends;

I assume this is core MediaWiki as magic words are defined in
http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/phase3/includes/MagicWord.php?view=markup

Please change the component to MediaWiki extensions if the following relates to
mw:Extension:PathFunctions ( http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:PathFunctions )

At the url and at some other pages from
words
you will see that renders as , renders as .
You may create similar examples for {, and the other predefined templates.

However it might be very irritating not only for newbies that there is a big difference when coming to / talking about / using magic words.

request:

pagename should behave as PAGENAME,
contentlang should behave as CONTENTLANG etc.

I assume that the language localizations of the magic words should be handeled the same way. I must admit I did never used / tested such localizations.

Please open another report /bug / subtask with component « Internationalization » if necessery.

Best regards Reinhardt user:Gangleri

Really, I think that just creating Template:pagename with PAGENAME inside it would be best. That way, it doesn't affect the code, and even if this were to be implemented, only a small amount of people are likely to use it. Just my $.02, though.
