Description Dave Awad 2007-12-19 14:05:11 UTC
i think it would be extremely benificial to make the source code of the entire website not just open source but also editable by the users. i do understannd the risks involved in doing this but i think if there were proper restrictions set it would be only for the better and would even further put the website in the hands of its users and would without a doubt help.

If you would like to edit MediaWiki source code, you may ask Brion Vibber of Tim Starling for commit access. Making code editable by everybody is completely crazy idea: it will allow somebody to steal private info, passwords, etc. We have a lot of trustable system administrators at Wikimedia.
