Description MZMcBride 2007-12-08 19:12:10 UTC
Currently, wikis like en.wiki are using a cascading protection hack to protect certain page titles. An extension has been written that allows page titles to be blocked using regex. It would significantly improve pages like <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Protected_titles/December_2007/List/HAGGER2>.

At least as a stop-gap measure, this extension could greatly simplify the protected titles system. If later on, a new, more robust system is developed, even better. But this seems to be the best solution at the moment.
