Please explain where the incorrect documentation you speak of is, or wether this bug is simply due to lack-of documentation. If the problem is on MediaWiki.org then this is the wrong forum for informing us of a problem, instead please use the talk page or fix it yourself. If it is within the code then we need to know which file. Also more descriptive bug titles are nice. :)
I would think it is lack of documentation. Every place I've searched on the web says "simply chanI am not aware of any documentation with the software itself other than the occassional txt file, which are kindof difficult to find by Windows users give they have no extension. I've made some entries on on the some talk pages concerning the logo, but the Manual page is not editable. I'll provide more into a little later.
It is very difficult to resolve a bug report with as little information as you are giving. After a quick search on MediaWiki.org I have found http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:FAQ#How_do_I_change_the_logo.3F and http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:%24wgLogo - both of which tell you how to change the logo, so there is definitely no lack of documentation. Regarding your concerns about placing it at the bottom as opposed to the top, generally it is common sense to use a variable after you modify it rather than before. I have added a note about placing it at the end of LocalSettings.php, although it is probably unnecessary: as I said common sense.
Thank you, however please consider un-resolving the bug as soon as I locate my postings. I'm postings from three different computers and it takes a bit of effort to keep track.

While that may in fact be the default value, as implied by DefaultSetting.php, in 1.11 one CANNOT use a referece to $wgStylePath because (correct me if I am wrong here) in 1.11's DefaultSetting.php = false and it is not carried over to LocalSettings.php. So I entered a comment at http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual_talk:FAQ#Mediawiki-logo stating that instead of using a reference to StylePath to instead use a reference to ScriptPath. My goal is to provide a little more help to newbies like myself or are unfamiliar with the variable structure and who must therefor rely on whatever they can find on the net, most of which says "To change this you simply need to change the value of $wgLogo to point to the URL of your own logo image." The problem is that we are then met with the situation (in 1.11) where there is no line in LocalSettings TO change. So we end up floundering, inserting instead of changing this line, and then putting it in the wrong place (like I did) and using StylePath instead of ScriptPath (and, like I did). RECOMMENDED REVISION TO http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:FAQ#How_do_I_change_the_logo.3F : == How do I change the logo? == The logo that appears in the top left of each page is determined by the $wgLogo configuration setting in the LocalSettings.php file. To change this you simply need to set the value of $wgLogo to point to the URL of your own logo image. In MediaWiki versions 1.10 and before, locate the line in LocalSettings.php and change it to $wgLogo = "$wgScriptPath/skins/common/images/mywikilogo.png"; or to $wgLogo = "$wgStylePath/common/images/mywikilogo.png"; (if your logo is in common/images. In versions 1.11 and later, use $wgLogo = "$wgStylePath/.... You can upload a file via the wiki and use that address (which allows it to be replaced easily, so you may want to protect the page if you use this method) or use an image uploaded to your server via other means. Caution! Caution: It is possible to simply overwrite the default logo installed with MediaWiki, but this is strongly advised against, as an upgrade may end up overwriting it or change the default location of this file. Tip: The logo image should be 135 pixels square. I am not married to the above text; I would just like to see something that recognizes that there is no preexisting $wgLogo line to "change" in 1.11 and points out the fact that in 1.11 one must use ScriptPath instead of StylePath.
