Description とある白い猫 2007-09-09 20:40:51 UTC
I think it would be a fine addition if AFD votes were able to be conducted as a "closed vote" - aka votes only visible to b'crats until the RFA is closed and published (by a b'crat).

This would be a good measure against vote pile-ons as well.

Much like the board elections but people should be allowed to comment.

I do not know how much of this is coded and salvageable from board elections.

Interface for the bcrats may include nifty tools such as the number of edits at the time of the vote start per user and date of registration.
Comment 2 Rob Church 2007-09-09 20:48:06 UTC
This is doable, but please seek appropriate consensus to do it - RfA is the source of much contention, and having the work go to waste would not be fun.
Comment 3 とある白い猫 2007-09-09 23:33:42 UTC
I think this should be an available option for wikis who wishes to use this. Getting such a consensus specifically on en.wiki may not necessarily be easy and will most likely take a lot of time. But for other more sensible wikis may choose to use it.

RFA's aside there are a lot of polls that need this feature.
Comment 4 Chad H. 2010-01-27 05:26:04 UTC
This is now possible with SecurePoll and has been used successfully for several elections, marking FIXED. If enwiki wanted to start using it for RFA, you'd need to find consensus on-wiki for that.
