Description Andrew Whitworth 2007-08-31 21:30:38 UTC
Can we add a capability to parse wikitext in an outgoing email? On the [[Special:Emailuser]] page there could be checkboxes for "format as HTML" and "parse Wikitext". That way, we could pass links to pages on the wiki using bracket-notation in an email, and have them be proper URLs when the email is received.

The specific case of URLs is the focus of bug 7846. On the whole, I'm not sure I like the idea of sending HTML email; I see no great benefit in it, and several possible problems.

Duping this up to bug 7846.
