Description Shiju Alex 2007-07-15 07:11:07 UTC
The malayalam wiki source project ( is in its infancy.
Only two or three users are working in that project.

We find it very difficult to use the malayalam wiki source, since some one had changed all the name spaces to malayalam. All the malayalam namespaces are percentage encoded in the browser. Because of this new and non technical users find it very difficult to work in the project. Also the percentage encoded URLs are getting corrupted when we send across urls through emails or messangers when we communicate. This is creating lot of problem for the project.

I request you to change all the name spaces to english.

The name spaces should be:

      <ns id="-2">Media</ns>
      <ns id="-1">Special</ns>
      <ns id="0" />
      <ns id="1">Talk</ns>
      <ns id="2">User</ns>
      <ns id="3">User talk</ns>
      <ns id="4">Wikisource</ns>
      <ns id="5">Wikisource talk</ns>
      <ns id="6">Image</ns>
      <ns id="7">Image talk</ns>
      <ns id="8">MediaWiki</ns>
      <ns id="9">MediaWiki talk</ns>
      <ns id="10">Template</ns>
      <ns id="11">Template talk</ns>
      <ns id="12">Help</ns>
      <ns id="13">Help talk</ns>
      <ns id="14">Category</ns>
      <ns id="15">Category talk</ns>
      <ns id="100">Portal</ns>
      <ns id="101">Portal talk</ns>
      <ns id="102">Author</ns>
      <ns id="103">Author talk</ns>
      <ns id="104">Page</ns>
      <ns id="105">Page talk</ns>

Thank you very much for your time.

This is inadvisable, since at some point in the future, users will be asking us to revert this change, which will break existing links to the English namespaces. Recommend WONTFIX.

The English namespaces themselves will work as aliases when browsing to pages, etc.
