Description Rémi Kaupp 2007-07-09 08:47:44 UTC
It would be interesting to allow borders in image galleries generated by <gallery> tags ; this would avoid the confusion when one gets a white flag on a white background, see for instance [[Gallery of maritime flags]], with the White Ensign not always legible.

It could be done with the same keyword as for images (|border|), or with a general keyword embedded in the <gallery> tag ?

Images in galleries *do* have a border. It's a bit faint, I concede, but that's just a simple matter of tweaking some CSS.

See also bug 1962, bug 6019, bug 10081. If galleries could be given HTML attributes then the entire gallery could be given a border/background/etc., a related request.

Indeed but then the CSS has to be changed for the whole site ; yet borders are required only on some occasions ; allowing an optional paramter (or some HTML / CSS style) could help.
