Tired of posting a comment and having your PHP, HTML, or wikitext come out all wrong? Want to post it somewhere without cluttering real bugs with redundant "oops, here's what it should look like" comments?

Try out your code in a comment on this bug first.
Comment 1 Michael Zajac 2007-07-05 21:58:56 UTC
Here's my test comment: how do these appear in Bugzilla?

Therefore we're not going to be your colony anymore.

Comment 2 Aryeh Gregor (not reading bugmail, please e-mail directly) 2007-07-05 22:05:33 UTC
Bugzilla is purely plain text, except that raw URLs are linked, wikilinks are mostly linked, and magic phrases of the form bug 123, comment 1, bug 123 comment 1, and r12345 all work. Maybe a couple other things are parsed too. Someone should document this somewhere, or preferably just post the code that's used to magically link all this stuff (that's not part of Bugzilla proper).

I guess feel free to use this, but do be aware that every change made to anything on Bugzilla spams the e-mail inbox of a good portion of the developers, as well as the IRC chat.
Comment 3 Michael Zajac 2007-07-05 22:34:54 UTC
Yikes! Apologies for spamming mailboxes. If there's no way to stop the mail, let's close this bug.

I also notice that my comment text is no longer double-wrapped in a messy way as it always was in the past, which was a huge source of frustration. So the sandbox is not as important as I expected it would be. I guess the problem was fixed in either Bugzilla or in a recent browser upgrade (using Safari 3.0.2 now).

Note You need to log in before you can comment on or make changes to this bug.
