My proposed PHP file

I propose the addition of a Special:CategoryRedirects page which will list all redirects that are in the category namespace, and their target is as well. I have created a basic SQL page that should be relatively inexpensive.

Note that this will be redundant when the report branch is completed and merged.

I'm aware of that, however this is a temporary fix. This sort of thing is really needed on the English Wikipedia, as category redirects need to have their contents moved, as it makes it really hard to find what's actually in the category.

Also, what sort of time frame are you looking at for the report branch? I'm curious to when this is going to be implemented, because if it isn't soon i'm going to request this query to be executed on enwiki anyway.

"When it's done", or, I hope, within two weeks.
Comment 5 Matt 2007-10-03 02:50:45 UTC
Any updates on this?

If it's still in the pipe, someone should consider whether it will realistically be completed soon. If not, Special:CategoryRedirects should get implemented.
