Description Robin Pepermans (SPQRobin) 2007-06-15 21:11:37 UTC
An option to hide bots in the history of a page, like in the recent changes and the watchlist. This would be much better.
Comment 1 Rob Church 2007-06-16 01:02:42 UTC
This information isn't stored in the `revision` table.
Comment 2 Aaron Schulz 2007-06-16 01:09:26 UTC
Don't see the need for this. Why would bots flood a single page?
Comment 3 Robin Pepermans (SPQRobin) 2007-06-16 10:13:49 UTC
There are pages with a history, full with bot changes.
For example and

But there are many pages with only bot edits like municipalities, where it would be difficult to hide bots, I think.
Comment 4 Huji 2007-06-16 18:03:33 UTC
Robin, this is a rare case. I think it would be better for you to develop a user script which hides bot edits for you.
Comment 5 Rob Church 2007-06-16 19:27:34 UTC
An edit's "bot" status applies when it is listed in changes pages (Special:Recentchanges, Special:Watchlist etc.) and indicates that the change should not be shown by default, i.e. provides a means of filtering recent changes.

It doesn't make sense to preserve this information for page histories, since it is more or less meaningless in that context.
Comment 6 Aaron Schulz 2007-06-16 19:43:32 UTC
I'd also agree with rob on this one as for it being out of context.

Also, this seems to be an ad-hoc feature creep based on limited cases of usefulness that would rarely come up.
Comment 7 Robin Pepermans (SPQRobin) 2007-06-16 20:38:51 UTC
I think you're right.
But sometimes it disturbed me, so I was thinking if it couldn't be fixed.
