Description Dan Jacobson 2007-04-26 19:03:54 UTC
Gentlemen, I notice title=Somepage&useskin=myskin most resembles
title=Somepage&useskin=monobook with all images, javascript, and
stylesheets blocked from coming over the wire.

So one first wonders why myskin looks almost the same, but still draws
so much baggage over the wire.

But mainly one sighs: too bad one cannot with a mere change to
LocalSettings.php, make a totally standalone page site: where even
from the user's first click, each page calls in no other adjunct
sheets, scripts or (boilerplate) images... a super fast site.

Sure one could remove them from the file tree, causing lots of 404's,
but too bad they cannot be not pulled in in the first place.

Or maybe there's just no way without increasing code complexity even more.

You could simply write a new skin without images or stylesheets; see [[m:Skins]].
