docs/memcached.txt references the $wgUseMemCached setting which doesn't work
anymore. Instead (or perhaps additionally?) you have to put:

$wgMainCacheType=CACHE_MEMCACHED

Kind of annoying, since you there really aren't any clues to see that it isn't
working, save for connecting to memcached and issuing a 'stats' command (or
straceing it)
