Description wiki_me 2007-04-14 12:27:12 UTC
The text "<math> g = 2 </math>" is rendered as "g=2-" on wikipedia pages. The
minus sign does not appear if the text is changed in any way at all i.e. a work
around would be to simply replace the text with "<math>g = 2</math>" which will
be rendered as "g=2".

Browser: Firefox 2.0.0.3

On what page do you have seen this? Tested under
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:Raymond/math and I cannot confirm. I
assume it's an old page and this bug a dupe of bug 7367
Comment 2 wiki_me 2007-04-14 21:45:50 UTC
I noticed the error first on this page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anomalous_magnetic_dipole_moment and have
subsequently got the same error on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sandbox

It only appears to happen on the English version of wikipedia. The minus sign
didn't appear for me on http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:Raymond/math or
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Spielwiese.

This looks to be bug 7367. The affected images/rendering haven't been cleared,
it seems. For now, to work around, use an equivalent expression to avoid the cache.

The cached renderings still need to be cleared on Wikimedia servers, don't they?
That appears to be a separate issue from bug 7367, which was a software issue.
