$wgCapitalLinks currently allows only global setting per site, it would be useful to have it configurable per namespace.
Can you give an example of where it would be useful? I worry that we'd be introducing configuration cruft and complexifying the link code, not to mention the editor's expectations could be potentially misinterpreted.
Well, it may be narrowed to main ns and its talk only, because in fact it is mostly the only place affected. Some people (not me, just forwarding the feedback) are lazy to write with capitals when linking to pages (in different namespaces) or including templates. So you can often see links like [[help:foo]] instead of [[Help:Foo]] and {{bar}} instead of {{Bar}}. Which doesn't mind on wikis with forcing capital, but does there, where forcing is off. In fact most useful place for having forcing off is only main ns, in other places it may cause annoying of users. I thought that setting configurability for one (+ talk) namespace would take same work as allowing it per all, that's why i suggested per ns. But if it's easier to have it only for main ns + its talk, do it that way. It still will be much better than current state. Thanks.
