Description André Mondri 2007-02-21 12:58:16 UTC
Hi,

i added a new Usergroup (mod) to my config.

But at http://www.theologiewiki.de/wiki/Spezial:Benutzer there is no possibility to get a
Link to http://www.theologiewiki.de/wiki/index.php?
title=Theologiewiki.de_die_freie_theologische_Enzyklopaedie:mod&action=edit like it is
available for Bürokrat, Administrator. But (mod) is shown right from the Username - but
not clickable.

My Suggestion - to fix this or to give us a easy Way from ACL Configuration at
http://www.theologiewiki.de/wiki/Spezial:Benutzerrechte to create own Usergroups and to
choose their Permissions.

Edit MediaWiki:Grouppage-<groupname> and related messages; see
Special:Allmessages for a full list.
Comment 2 André Mondri 2007-02-21 22:48:23 UTC
Cant find this for german Wiki. Only Side with Prefix MediaWiki: is Sidebar.
Comment 3 André Mondri 2007-02-21 22:53:47 UTC
Have found it : http://www.theologiewiki.de/MediaWiki:Group-mod

But at the Userdirectory "mod" is still not editable. And at
Spezial:MediaWiki-Systemnachrichten (Allmessages) there is no Option to add a
Phrase.

Why must this so complicated? Isnt there anywhere a real modern ACL Extension
for MediaWiki?
Comment 4 André Mondri 2007-02-21 22:57:29 UTC
There is still "Redlabour ‎(Bürokrat, mod, Administrator)" and only Bürokrat,
mod, Administrator are editable.
Only thing changed is that mod is now called "Moderatoren" at choosing the
Permissions at the ACL.
Comment 5 Rob Church 2007-02-21 22:59:54 UTC
(sigh...)

To tell MediaWiki to link a group to a particular page in the user list, edit
MediaWiki:Grouppage-<groupname> and enter the title of the page to be linked to.
This page won't exist by default; you will have to create it.
Comment 6 André Mondri 2007-02-21 23:07:31 UTC
Ok this works now. And at ACL and Grouppage it is called "Moderator".

But at Userdirectory there it is still called "mod".

P.S: Maybe we wont have those Problem if there was a real Supportforum for
MediaWiki with clear Instructions and FAQ´s. The Mediawiki-Wiki is - sorry -
chaotic.
Comment 7 Rob Church 2007-02-21 23:08:37 UTC
This is a bug tracker, not a support forum. There are various mailing lists for
support. There are various unofficial support forums. You would know this, and
the solution to your support question, had you actually tried to use a search
engine to find this information.

Sure otherwise i did not think it was a Bug at the first Moment.
