When you type an namespace-prefix in the searchbox, the ajax-search fails at the
":". Additional, many other specialcharacters fail, probably due to wrong
charset interpretation.

e.g., when I type: MediaWiki:Sidebar, ajax-search says (in my de-wiki) :
 Seiten, die mit ''MediaWiki%3ASidebar'' beginnen

meaning something like 
 Pages, which begin with ''MediaWiki%3ASidebar''

ajax fails on articles like "1+2", too (, which begin with ''1%2B2'').

Has been fixed in the intermediate time...
