Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description Dan Jacobson 2007-01-25 19:15:10 UTC
Upon upgrade to 1.9.0, the user's customized Mediawiki:Privacy,
Mediawiki:Sidebar, etc. are overwritten.

He doesn't find out unless he inspects the screen edges minutely.

Again appears the "Donations" link, like I was out of cash or
something. Ha ha ha.

Again appears the "Privacy policy" link, like it was their business.
Ha ha ha.

(I didn't exactly upgrade. I installed 1.9.0 from scratch, but told
the configure form my existing database.)
Comment 1 Brion Vibber 2007-01-25 20:42:35 UTC
Custom message pages are not overwritten.

*New* messages pages may be added.

Customized *language files* are of course overwritten when you replaced them.
Comment 2 Dan Jacobson 2007-02-01 19:39:44 UTC
Here's how my Mediawiki:Privacy (and Mediawiki:Sidebar) were
overwritten upon upgrade from 1.7.1 to 1.9.0:

< var wgArticleId = "2931";
> var wgArticleId = 0;
< var wgCurRevisionId = "3364";
> var wgCurRevisionId = false;

P.S., $wgLanguageCode = "zh-tw";
