I experienced myself, that signatures will be generated differently then I taught. It would be "nice to have" a preciew already during making the preference setup. There is the question what happens a) if there is no first prefix as for [[foo|]], [[foo||]], [[foo|||]], ... and [[foo| ]], [[foo|| ]], ... (the last "clean links", see [[meta:Clean linking]]). b) if more then one prefix should be escaped [[wiktionary:en:Main Page||]], [[wiktionary:en:Main Page|||]], ... (could probably be equivalent to [[wiktionary:en:Main Page|Main Page]]).
I realy have much time to think about thinks which make not much sense. But they show m*l*icious usage of sigs and may point to s*c*rity issues. At http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/User:Gangleri/tests#endless_posibilities a category and template was used in a sig. Inclusion of now*k* in sigs seems to be problematical as well because a different behaviour as mentioned at bug 885 is experienced. With this knowledge v*nd*l*sm is just a matter of opening a page, four keystrokes and saving. Please let me know if such issues should be reported here or not. Regards Reinhardt
Is it that hard to hit ~~~~ in the sandbox and hit preview? Re: comment #1: there's nothing you can do in a nick signature that you can't type manually. Closing as WONTFIX.
