Description Duncan Harris 2007-01-06 15:16:35 UTC
When an image is included in a template and that template is transcluded into a
page, then the links section on an image page lists all pages that include the
template.

This makes it hard to distinguish genuine inclusions from where it included as
part of a template, e.g. stub template, navigation template.

Therefore, transclusions via templates should be noted as being via the
template, like this:

* [[French language]]
* [[template:foo]]
** [[Gravy]]
** [[etc]]

We don't track that information separately in the link tables; it's exactly the
same situation as for links from templates. If a page links to something in any
way, then it's recorded as linking to it.
