When viewing the most recent diff of a vandalized article on Wikipedia, clicking the "undo" link returns the same vandalized version in the edit box, rather than the previous version. The conversation at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Vandalism#Restoring_a_vandalised_article indicates that this isn't an isolated problem. Hypothesis: possibly interaction with user setting "show preview before edit box" but not verified.
I believe this was fixed by Brion, but has yet to be taken live.
Yes, this is, in fact, a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 8351 ***
If it is a duplicate, then the problem hasn't existed for over a week and no one can have experienced it during the last week.
If somebody can reproduce this bug now, then I will reopen it. I am currently unable to reproduce it in my own userspace (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Werdna/Sandbox&action=history).
I can't reproduce with a simple case under current trunk: 1. Created "Victim" page with some text 2. "Vandalised" the page from another machine 3. Accessed the diff, clicked Undo The undo works fine. I also can't reproduce this when enabling "show preview on first edit" as the initial comment advised.
Huh. I wonder why, in spite of the searching I did here, why I didn't find those duplicates before reporing this issue. I can't repeat it anymore either. Sorry for the trouble.
