I can conclude the edit of pages or section of wikipedia if they are "big" (probably beyond a given size, not yet determined). I work with mandrake linux 9.1, linux 2.4, konqueror 3.1. With this platform, when I try to edit a "big" page or section, for instance the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grassroot when I press one of 'Save page' 'Show preview' 'Show changes', for instance 'Show preview' without having modified anything, the browser waits for a while, and thereafter I get an error message like this: ERROR The requested URL could not be retrieved While trying to retrieve the URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Canvassing&action=submit The following error was encountered: Zero Sized Reply Squid did not receive any data for this request. Your cache administrator is nobody. Generated Sat, 02 Dec 2006 17:14:40 GMT by sq18.wikimedia.org (squid/2.6.STABLE5) If I click on 'Save page', the page is not saved. Editing "small" pages, or "small" sections of big pages is Ok, for instance editing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grassroot#Technique is ok. Editing with windows XP and internet explorer is ok. I tried also with mozilla 1.3, lynx 2.8, and Kubuntu linux 6.06 and konqueror, and I get the same problem. Unitl a few months ago, I didn't notice this problem, so I guess it has been recently introduced.
Tested on Ubuntu Linux with konqueror, firefox, and chromium on several large pages without any issues. Note that 'grassroot' was moved to 'grassroots' and have never been larger than about 5k, which I would hardly call big. Closing worksforme.
