Following an idea from Pierre Vigué on fr.wikipedia, it was suggested to have the preview activated automatically before saving for anonymous users and new users. This could be done either by hiding the "save" button first (forcing these users to preview, then the "save" button shows up), or by forcing the preview the first time the "save" button is pressed. It was suggested in order to slow down vandalism and avoid typical beginners' mistakes, without any harm for regular users. It received 100% approbation on the village pump, see http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipédia:Le_Bistro/1_décembre_2006#Prévisualisation Just wondering if this could be done easily by the devs or if we need to do some hack with the monobook.js. Thanks.
There are discussions on Swedish Wikipedia (here:http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bybrunnen#P.C3.A5tvingad_f.C3.B6rhandsgranskning) as well to implement this functionality. Comments are welcome.
