Description Servien 2006-12-02 10:53:05 UTC
Could someone please change the namespace "Kategorie" to "Categorie", this is necessary
because in the spelling system used on the li-wiki this is the correct spelling, the
spelling has been changed a long time ago in all system messages, but since no one
really knows how to change the namespaces I took the initiative for the community, so
hopefully this can be sorted out soon. Pages where this is mentioned are:

http://li.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:De_kaffee
http://li.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euverlik_gebroeker:Steinbach

Thanks in advance
Servien

Should this also be done in the language files, i.e., by default for all wikis
running the Limburgish language?
Comment 2 Servien 2006-12-03 09:51:59 UTC
Which language files are you talking about?
Comment 3 Rob Church 2006-12-03 12:16:58 UTC
He wants to know whether or not this change is one that is being made *because
it's the correct thing to do for this language*, i.e. translation, or whether it
should *just* affect that one Wikipedia, because it's a localised decision.
Comment 4 Servien 2006-12-03 15:58:38 UTC
It's just for the Limburgish Wikipedia (http://li.wikipedia.org), only the name
space "Kategorie" needs to be changed to "Categorie", this is because of incorrect
spelling. Hopefully this is sufficient.
Comment 5 Aryeh Gregor (not reading bugmail, please e-mail directly) 2006-12-03 18:22:54 UTC
Let's say I set up my own Limburgish wiki. Should the default namespace name be
"Kategorie" or "Categorie"?
Comment 6 Servien 2006-12-04 08:49:46 UTC
Eh, there is only one Limburgish Wikipedia, you can't set up two Wikipedia's for the
same language, and as far as I know there are no Wikiquotes WikiDictionaries etc,
etc. (but if that would ever be created the default namespace should off course
be "Categorie" since the spelling category "Kategorie" is incorrectly spelled, as I
mentioned before.)
Comment 7 Rob Church 2006-12-04 11:18:15 UTC
*Right*

So this change needs to be made in the language files. Reassigning product and
component...
Comment 8 Rotem Liss 2006-12-04 11:49:28 UTC
Should the category talk namespace be "Euverlik categorie", or something else?
Comment 9 Servien 2006-12-04 11:57:25 UTC
Yes, it should be "Euverlik categorie" :)
Comment 10 Rotem Liss 2006-12-04 12:04:22 UTC
Fixed in r18157, and will be updated on Wikipedia itself in a day or two.
Comment 11 Servien 2006-12-04 14:27:47 UTC
Thanks for fixing this :)... could you be so kind to fix this one as well:
http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8114 (for the nds-nl-Wikipedia) it
concerns the namespace Special and Category thanks in advance! :)
