(From "Re: [Semediawiki-user] Attribute:email is now of Type:Email, template
simplifications, help needs update" e-mail thread)

If you perform an inline query of an attribute of Type:Email, you get
"[mailto:email_addr email_addr]" in the query output. Such wiki text ordinarily
turns into a nice hyperlinked e-mail with envelope icon, but not in inline queries.

Expected Results:
Most of the time people would expect to see the e-mail as a hyperlinked e-mail
with envelope icon, or just the plain text of "email_addr". Maybe the <ask>
attribute link="none" should affect this.

Inline queries use the datavalue->vuser string, which is meant to be wikitext
according to SMW_DataValue.php.

The underlying issue is similar to that of Bug 9334 and should be fixed in the
same way.
Comment 2 Markus Krötzsch 2007-10-03 16:35:09 UTC
Actually, this was fixed now even for the old <ask> (and all other functions printing emails into HTML).
