Description Duncan Harris 2006-11-17 12:22:02 UTC
Can we have the ability to import and export watchlists please?

Just simply as a plain text file with each new page to be watched listed on a
new line.

This would allow users to edit their watchlists easier by opening them in an
external text editor.

It would also allow users to share watchlists with others, so that if one has a
watchlist (say) full of articles on classic American automobiles, they can share
it with their friends.

Fixed in r23693, with significant improvements in r23750 and performance improvements in r23895.

If I was to be pedantic, this hasn't been implemented but (1) editing raw watchlist seems to make more sense as it contains everything in the browser and (2) over-riding existing watchlists could be a problem if import them. As it is, folks can now share parts of their watchlists with others plain text. I think bug 1492 should be the next step.
