Description Guillaume Paumier 2006-10-17 10:59:48 UTC
Hello,

The English-language Wikibooks community would like to have a Transwiki
namespace to avoid cluttering the main namespace while using the Special:Import
feature.

Thanks!

The goal is to make it easier for wikipedians to find transwikied materials through redirects in that namespace. We have a bot to move
the old talk:Transwikii to Transwiki_talk, so should go smoothly.

It also just makes it easier for us to sort the materials, of course.
Comment 2 Robert Horning 2006-10-20 20:59:22 UTC
One other huge reason that the Transwiki namespace ought to be created is that
much of this content really isn't a "part" of Wikibooks yet, but is in a pending
mode waiting for regular participants to clean it up and decide what to do with
the content. A perfect use of independent namespaces if I ever saw it.

Please read the comments on the Wikibooks discussion page about this topic,
especially about making this part of the default installation of MediaWiki as
well, but that is a seperate topic and this bug addresses specifically Wikibooks.

It will happen. Please be patient.

Set.
