Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description Guttorm Flatabø 2004-10-18 12:19:29 UTC
Currently system messages used in extensions such as "Boardvote" and
"SiteMatrix" are only editable in the MediaWiki namespace. Therefore new
installations cannot will have to do their own translation.

If you could include the messages in LanguageXx.php and translate them there,
new installs could also use the translations. Alternatively the translation
could be put in its own file for every extension or just one file for all
extensions (ExtensionsLanguageXx.php or ExtensionXLanguageXx.php).
Comment 1 Brion Vibber 2005-06-22 06:14:49 UTC
The extension can add its localizations to the message cache at runtime.
