Firefox spreads the background for #column-one the entire width of the page, rather than confining it to the left column. This works properly in Internet Explorer. I don't see any indication in the CSS that the column-one div should not have full width. The portlet divs inside it do have limited widths, but it does not. The rendering by Firefox and Safari looks correct to specs.
