Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description Borgx 2006-07-20 00:53:10 UTC
People sometimes create and use the wrong categories. I propose MW to provide
mechanism (these are alternatives):
+ to inform users that they should use category:A instead of category:B, or
+ to automatically put pages using category:A to be categorized under category:B
if we redirects (or some sort) category:A to category:B, or
+ to provide some special page that list all of "pages need to be
recategorized", for example: will show all pages under category:A if we mark
that category:A redirects to category:B. In this way users will be aware, and
manually change all pages from category:A to category:B.
