The page started with some boilerplate text generated by [[Template:Tfd]]. I added text indicating the new location of the deletion debate. For no obvious reasons my addition is rendered as monospaced <pre>-block. I use the classic skin. Here's what I get (rendered page, truncated, UTF-8 lsaquo / rsaquo removed): <div class="boilerplate metadata plainlinks" id="tfd" style="background-color: transparent; padding: 0; font-size:xx-small; color:#000000; text-align: center; border-bottom:1px solid #AAAAAA;">The <a href="/wiki/Wikipedia:Template_messages" title="Wikipedia:Template messages">template</a> below has been proposed for deletion. See <a href="/wiki/Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion#Template:Unblockabuse" title="Wikipedia:Templates for deletion">templates for deletion</a> to help reach a consensus on what to do. </div> <pre> moved to <a href="/wiki/Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2006_July_8#Template:unblockabuse" title="Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2006 July 8">Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2006_July_8#Template:unblockabuse</a>. </pre>
Your template ends in some blank lines (after removal of <noinclude> sections), so the text after it starts on a new line.
