Description freakofnurture 2006-07-03 14:22:35 UTC
It would be most excellent if the software could generate:
* A reversed view of "Related changes", i.e. a set of recent changes to pages
which linking to a certain page, rather than linked from it, or...
* View "Special:Whatlinkshere/SomePage" in a "watchlist" form, listing the
referring pages with timestamps and username of most recent edit...
(whichever way is easier to envision/impliment)

I realize the same effect could be achieved by copying the contents of
"Whatlinkshere" to a sandbox page and then viewing Special:Recentchangeslinked
for that page, but it's really a waste of edits, especially if it is a large
list, as one would have to manually update the sandbox page each time to get
useful results.

Perhaps if these queries could be chained together, something like
"Special:Recentchangeslinked/Special:Whatlinkshere/SomePage" to get a set of
recent changes to (or, equally often, creations of) pages which link to a
certain page. This could potentially help locate pages that need to be
categorized/stub-tagged according to a main topic covered at SomePage.

Great idea...
Comment 2 Aaron Schulz 2008-05-27 05:00:04 UTC
Not sure the second is worth it. But related changes now can do the former.
