Beta features is correctly prohibiting ENABLING of beta features incompatible with a particular browser but once enabled, they are still on, when accessing the site from an incompatible browsers
Comment 3 Derk-Jan Hartman 2014-05-10 13:51:48 UTC
If it matters, my beta features are autoenabled, I USED them on my regular browser than went into IE7 to fix a bug, logged in and was greeted with the attached screen when trying to edit.

We. Have been. Over this.

Preferences are not a per-session thing, they're a per-user thing. The current window through which the user is viewing the preferences page should not change what they can interact with through the window.

James_F can reopen if he wants, but I'm tired of talking about this every 2 months.
Comment 5 Mark Holmquist 2014-05-10 16:58:25 UTC
I misunderstood part of this report.

I'm changing the summary to be clearer.
Comment 6 Jared Zimmerman (WMF) 2014-05-10 18:33:16 UTC
Can check the browser per session, and use resourceloader(?) to not load the betafeature during that session?
Comment 7 Kunal Mehta (Legoktm) 2014-05-10 18:41:53 UTC
We'll just have to do something like I46f3beed142dfc3af75b4165aa7cf97284ba62a9 but for the browser.
