Description Rotem Liss 2006-06-26 06:47:00 UTC
Please add a custom namespace ('קטע') and its talk space ('שיחת_קטע') to Hebrew
Wikisource:

$wgExtraNamespaces = array(
100 => 'קטע',
101 => 'שיחת_קטע'
);

Thanks.

Just to ask the obvious question...what are the namespace names in English? What
would these be used for?
Comment 2 Rotem Liss 2006-06-26 06:59:27 UTC
Section of the data to be transcluded, such as parts of the bible (which are
included in both the [[Tanakh]] itself, and projects about its commentaries,
e.g. [[Mikraot Gedolot]]). The templates namespace is currently used, but it was
decided to separate the namespaces, so that regular templates will use the
Template namespace, and these sections of data (which are not real templates)
will use the new namespace.

The namespace name may be translated to Section.
Comment 3 Dovi Jacobs 2006-06-26 07:08:13 UTC
"The namespace name may be translated to Section."

Yes absolutely, or also: "Passage" as in "a single passage from a text".
"Section" or "Passage" are both fine.
Comment 4 Nahum Wengrov 2006-06-27 02:06:26 UTC
"Segment" is the most accurate, IMHO (if you want to nit-pick the issue).
Comment 5 Dovi Jacobs 2006-06-27 03:52:29 UTC
I like "Segment" too.

Regardless, does choosing an English equivalent matter? Or can this just move
foreward with the Hebrew namespace so that we can begin the project?
Comment 6 Rob Church 2006-06-27 14:05:23 UTC
Sorry - the English name is fairly irrelevant. It's just so we know what the
namespace is for. I was curious. :)
Comment 7 Rotem Liss 2006-08-29 13:50:07 UTC
Note that there are currently no pages in this pseudo-namespace, therefore
running namespaceDupes.php is not necessary.
Comment 8 Brion Vibber 2006-08-30 07:51:09 UTC
Added.
