Description Rotem Liss 2006-06-02 17:49:32 UTC
Nowadays, we use the message "emailforlost" in the account creation page. We
shouldn't use it anymore – the message includes information about both the real
name and the email (not only "for lost"), but the real name is optional and is
not enabled in Wikimedia sites – it is very odd in
http://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&type=signup, for
example.

Also, the info in "emailforlost" is duplicate to "prefs-help-realname" and
"prefs-help-email", which have replaced it in the preferences and which are
included only when they are needed.

I suggest to completely replace "emailforlost" with the other messages, and to
delete it. The patch I will attach in a minute does it.

Patch (trunk)

The patch replaces the message in includes/templates/Userlogin.php, changes the
reference to it in skins/monobook/main.css, and removes it from the English,
Hebrew, Deutch, French and Arabic language files.
