As reported on https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:CP?oldid=38100296#Pesquisa_ignora_caixa_da_letra if a user search for "SEO" he should be directed to [[SEO]], not to the variation [[Seo]].
Is this for the "go" search that you get when you hit enter in the search box and go directly to the page or the search results?
(In reply to comment #1) > Is this for the "go" search that you get when you hit enter in the search box > and go directly to the page or the search results? Yep. 1. Go to https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Preferences?uselang=en#mw-prefsection-betafeatures 2. Enable "New search" and save 3. Type "SEO" in the search field and hit ENTER You are redirected to https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seo instead of https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/SEO
Confirmed. The logs actually aren't recording any of the "near match" searches that you'd expect for ptwiki so I'm guessing that the TitleValue extension is grabbing this behavior before Cirrus gets a chance at it. TitleValue, CirrusSearch, and BetaFeatures don't play super well together. Let me see if I can reproduce that locally.
Correction, that is the Title*Key* extension. TitleValue is another thing all together....
Correction again - the problem isn't with another extension. I was able to find the search so I reinvestigated. The problem is that Cirrus isn't searching redirects in either the prefix search or the "go" search. I've retitled the bug to account for that.
Change 111835 had a related patch set uploaded by Manybubbles: Use redirects in prefix and go searches https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/111835
Change 111835 merged by jenkins-bot: Use redirects in prefix and go searches https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/111835
Now that this is merged it should go out with the wmf13 releases starting next Thursday with test and mediawiki.org and ending with wikipedias the Thursday after that.
