I've inserted paragraphs on [Economic Growth] concerning some of its controvercies, that have lasted for months only to be erased by people with axes to grind apparently, with out notice. I have 'watch this page' checked to be notified of changes, but don't get notices. What I'd like is a way to come to agreement with the parties doing the edits on having respectful differences of opinion included.
You won't receive email notification because it's switched off for that wiki. The watchlist still works as intended, though - visit Special:Watchlist and it will list the most recent change to any page on your watchlist.
Reopening to correct assignee information, etc.
This is not the best place to ask, but since I'm here: is it still the case that email notifications can be turned off for a wiki but still have preferences that imply to users that they are turned on? (To put it another way: the correct response to this bug, at the time it was filed, would have been to retitle it "Preferences page gives users false impression that they can receive email notification when notifications are disabled", rather than closing it. I would reopen it that way now but I have no way to know if it is still a bug or not.)
[Reopening and setting TESTME as per conversation with Andre.]
