Steps to reproduce:

1.Open a page with VE
2.Add a formula from Insert>Formula
3.Insert \pi into the inspector

Observed Result:
An error shows up "Failed to Parse(PNG conversion failed,check for correct installation of Latex  and dvipng (or dvips+gs+convert))"

This might just be math being broken on beta labs in general. If you save a page with wikitext <math>\pi</math>, does that work?
