The ga.wikipedia page Plé_úsaideora:Meabhar, a user talk page, seems to 
contain a hidden redirect to Vicipéid:Fabht-thuairiscí, the ga version of 
Bug reports. The only redirects on the page are within <nowiki> tags, and 
none of them point to Vicipéid:Fabht-thuairiscí. The user reports 
receiving no new message alerts, and edits to the page can be made only 
by manhandling the URL. Any help would be welcome.

cur_is_redirect is 0, so must be in for-display parsing, not in on-save-parsing.

Edited page and reverted it, the effect is no longer visible :-(

The correct page title is Plé_úsáideora:Meabhar, not Plé_úsaideora:Meabhar. The effect still 
looks visible to me  (hmmm...)00oo.. :-/

I modified the URL in the bug report and visited it. I was initially redirected
as reported. But after I tried to edit the page, when I reloaded it, it didn't
redirect. Subsequent attempts to load the page also did not result in redirects.
