Hallo! So far I am aware that only [[zh:]] and [[sr:]] are using LanguageConverter.php at Wikimedia Foundation wikies. Beside these I have seen a testwiki using LanguageConverter.php for Moldovan converting Latin and Cyrillic scrips. More projects will use LanguageConverter.php in the future. However the url from above shows that only [[zh-cn:]] and [[zh-tw:]] are interwiki / interlanguage prefixes but *not* [[sr-ec:]], [[sr-el:]], [[sr-jc:]] and [[sr-jl:]]. This does not seem consistent. Linking to a script variant in Chinese is possible via wiki links but linking to a script variant in Serbian is *not*. *request* I thing it would be a good policy to provide script variant interlanguage links for all projects in the future. best regards reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]

To clarify the request after some discussion at IRC These interlanguage links sould automaticaly include the variant=zh-cn, variant=zh-tw etc. this means that tsetup for interwiki table should use *long* forms: * http://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?variant=zh-cn&title=$1 * http://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?variant=zh-tw&title=$1 * http://sr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?variant=sr-ec&title=$1 * http://sr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?variant=sr-el&title=$1 * http://sr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?variant=sr-jc&title=$1 * http://sr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?variant=sr-jl&title=$1
There are no such variant links; zh-tw and zh-cn interwiki prefixes are obsolete leftovers from before variant display support existed.
